December 25 Ying's Kitchen ---卤蛋,馄饨今天是圣诞节,早起发现:“没有礼物“!!!哎,好可怜哦!好吧,明天去shopping,自己买!!! 下午发现,没有吃的了,哎,屋漏偏逢连夜雨呀!收拾一下去买东西吧!到了超市发现,不开门,因为今天是圣诞节吗!哎,我还能说什么,又跑了好几家,才买到吃的东西!天无绝人之路,好吧!既然这样,那我就做一点东西,好久没有做过了。
菜单:卤蛋,馄饨
先来卤蛋。买了两盒鸡蛋和两盒鹌鹑蛋 。我用了18个鸡蛋和全部的鹌鹑蛋(20个)。 先把它们煮熟,用凉水 这是用的料 我用了一个teaspoon的盐,1/4cup的生抽,1/4cup的老抽,还有八角,干辣椒,卤料包。
把所有的都煮熟了之后,拿到凉水底下冲。我妈妈说这个叫做“惊”一下鸡蛋,这样壳比较容易剥。然后把鸡蛋互相敲打,哈哈,这样比较容易进味道。重新把敲打后有裂纹的蛋放进凉水里,再放入上面的配料,开始煮。 在锅里的样子 出锅后

馄饨 这个我经常做,可是没有只做给自己吃过。每次都是为一个party做的。今天,自己做了自己吃! 来看原料和准备 我做了虾仁猪肉小葱馅。用了等量的虾仁和绞肉,还有一把葱。把虾仁毁碎,葱切碎,搅成馅,放了盐,生抽,还有鸡精。
调好的馅,买的皮,一碗水,还有放馄饨的。
成品
锅里开始煮了,碗里放一些生抽,一点葱,一些芝麻油。我又放了一些高汤,放了一些过了水的青菜。再来看看! 还蛮好吃的!!
那个元宝是年糕!!我还不知道怎么吃呢。。。
还有一些收获。。。 这些汤匙,我家里有,好久没有见过了,今天看到就买了! 四季如春!! merry christmas and happy holiday to everyone!!!

October 19 Ying' Kitchen --- My first pie "creamscile icecream pie"We had a pie party tody. Well, I am not a great fun for pie but it's nice to have a party. So with the help of some recipe books from the library I found one that interests me --- the ice cream pie.
I took several photos of the process that I am making the pie also several photos from the pie party.
August 31 Ying's Kitchen --- Victory RiceThis is an east european dish. One thing good about library... Everytime we choose a theme of a party like traditional america, Chinese, east european... One of the reference librarian will go out and pull some cooking books right away and people can copy the recipe and make it. It's fun and really good.
Since I know nothing about east european cooking I have to look that up in the books. It's so different than what I used to do and the ingredients are so different too. So I found one that I can probably make with not too much trouble --- victory rice.
Here is the recipe. 1 can of chicken broth (2 cups), 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice---cook them together for 10 minutes. Then you will need an 8-inch-square baking dish, heavily butter bottom and sides, then sprinkle bread crumbs over bottom of baking dish. Then put the rice into it, even the top. Take a cup of green pas (frozen ones are fine), even them on top the rice. Then you can buy about 1 lb of smoked ham at the Deli and slice them into strips, put them on the top of the pas. season with salt and ground black pepper. Beat four eggs, pour them over the top of the ham. Then lasst thing is the mild Cheddar cheese. Sprinkle them on top of the eggs. Bake uncovered, 50 minutes in the oven at 300 F. Until the top is lightly browned.
